And Crash was the biggest piece of crap movie ever to win Best Picture. Act One-outrageous stereotypes on parade. Act two- each stereotype reverses course.


    God, don't be respectful! Mr Film Studies and I completely forgot about Shite-tanic. You're bang on the money and LA Confidential is a total masterpiece. Crash is ok, but it's no Brokeback.

It is easily the weakest Best Picture winner of the past fifteenm years, and that list includes The English patient and Shakespeare In Love. It was up against Pulp Fiction, Quiz Show (I'm one the relative few who saw it) and THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION! It's a dreadful, wannabe feel good tale of whimsy, and that's how most people bought it - it's not; it's as right wing, in its way, as The Triumph Of The Will. You may have gathered that I can't stand Gump. Hey, even the writer got screwed on this one...

    Hold up- Gump beat Pulp Fiction?? How?I like Forrest Gump, it's a fantastic movie(Don't hurt me for that) but Pulp Fiction kicks it's ass any day

    Almost as bad as Ordinary People beating Raging Bull in 1980. Has anyone even seen Ordinary People since 1980?


  4. It's terrible, isn't it? Not to say that The Departed is a bad film - it''s brilliant, but I prefer Infernal Affairs - but it seemed like a case of, 'Oh, we haven't given Scorsese an Oscar yet. Has he got a film out this year?' Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Goodfellas, even Age Of Innocence... He should have a couple already. Mind you, Kubrick never got one and Hitchcock's was only honorary. Perhaps there's a topic in there - Oscar mistakes..?

    It's Pg 13 if that's what you're asking But I saw it last night, it's really good, but you gottta read the book first If you have, then you'll probably like it

  12. Well, I like Quantum more. A lot more action and betrayal. Loved it. Downside was that we had tickets for the 2nd front row, not the most ideal spot to watch a movie.
