If you're wanting to see a compelling movie with great acting, see "3:10 To Yuma." If you want a popcorn movie with intentionally bad acting and a cheesy script, see "Death Proof."


    Did you get to see it as Grindhouse, with both in a double-bill? It got pulled here by the Weinsteins (:( ) as it didn't make enough money. Hate that art should be ruled by money (mind you, just look at all the shite put out this summer for a quick $$$).

    I'll see what mood I'm in - popcorn or challenging - on the night I think.

    Absolutely. GREAT classic I'd say. But he does some Alcohol/Drugs/Sex vindication. And that's not good.

    He is rather preoccupied with violence and it's not all "acceptable", I agree. All his films have been an "18" here, which is getting pretty rare now. It usually means hard violence, terrible language, sex and drug references. All the things you mention....

    And what is it with him and feet.

    You and me both Dr.I thought it was awesome,great film.Got Tarantino all over it,the guy is a genius.............downloading Planet Terror now,only to complete the double bill of film's...........I know it aint Tarantino like...........

    Five movies over a five day period from Friday to Yesterday (Tuesday):

    "Bug" (2006)

    A regular horror film, right?... right?!

    I am the super-mother bug!

    ---

    "Nosferatu" (1922)

    The essence of Gothic horror right here. Owns Dracula -- forever.

    It will cost you sweat and tears, and perhaps... a little blood.

    ---

    "Notorious" (1946)

    Hitchcock still makes many directors today seem lame. Also, this movie makes you never want to drink coffee ever again.

    A man doesn't tell a woman what to do; she tells herself.

    "Elizabeth" (1998)

    In preparation for the continuation film, "Elizabeth: The Golden Age." From a spirited young woman to a royal leader.

    I will have one mistress here... and no master.

    "Away from Her" (2006)

    At least four people in this film deserve accolades for their performances, as well as massive props for treating the effect of a person's Alzheimer's very honestly and sympathetically without being heavy-handed or stupid.

    It's never too late to become what you might have been.

    Tarantino's movies are a bit heavy I agree, but they are great.
    John Tavolta, Bruce Willis on Pulp Fiction...great stuff.
    And besides, who doesn't love some feet?
