No longer is there the awesome chirpy "yup yup" Ewok singing, but some ambient sort of waily flutey bollocks. Kinda like one of the videos from U2.com, actually (the one with Edge on the Infinite guitar and Larry on some sort of keyboard thing...)...

I know what you mean - to use your idea, I sort of see it as if U2 re-recorded JT but used the Pet Shop Boys' arrangement for Streets...ok, maybe that's a bit extreme, but it's that kind of thing, throwing new stuff at something perfectly awesome - if it ain't broke don't fix it!
Anywho, just watched Pan's Labyrinth again, this time because I'm using it as a reference point for an essay - I really should have remembered that it's one of those films that come under the "requires to be watched with a very stiff drink. Or 5." category...
