Oh yes, Batman v Superman...

When I left the theater, I wasn't sure if it was worth my time to go see it (it didn't cost me any money because a friend had movie credits specifically for this). Afterwards, another friend of mine spent a long time explaining the symbolism behind many of the scenes to piece together the movie. While I found his explanation acceptable, the fact so many assumptions outside of the film itself had to be made in order to piece this story together meant that the movie itself wasn't that great after all. To me, it feels like a lot of decent pieces put together very badly. I think there should have been two movies before this one; a solo batman film to set up Ben Afflek's Batman and another solo Superman movie to further develop his character.

Brooklyn. This is the movie that Bono and Ali attended with the main actress Saoirse Ronan. Not a bad movie, but last year must had been a tough year if this was nominated for Best Picture and Actress.
