That's disappointing. I kind of wanted to see it. Really liked Jim Sturgess in "Across The Universe"
  3. the mummy 3.

liked the movie (even though I'm not really a big fan of the series), had some pretty cool and exciting action scenes. lots of humor, not much depth though. went to the cinema spontaneously with friends and for that, it was alright. wouldn't buy it on dvd though

Sounds like my dad's kinda film when it comes out on DVD . To be fair, sounds like the kind of mindless film I'd be up for going to watch too

I've read some reviews that were critical of his performance in that movie, that's all. That he wasn't really into the role, if that makes any sense.

Not sure he mailed it in, but it did strike me as lazy, typical over-the-top Jack. No cvariation or exploration of his character.

Here's the quote from an web chat I was referring to. (Bill Simmons is a sports/pop-culture writer for ESPN here in the US)

Brian (Charlotte, NC): Whats your best guess for the graduation gift that Nicholson gave Damon in The Departed?

SportsNation Bill Simmons: I think it was the 41-cent stamp that Nicholson used for the performance in that movie. All due respect to Jack, but we can all agree on this one, right? He's the worst thing in that movie BY FAR.
  12. Wow Bill Simmons talking about something related to Boston. Shocking.
