1. I think I'm back this week, guys! Who's picking, and what show?
  2. I really have no reason to post a review, I just can't describe this show. Some shows are too good to even put into words, you know what I mean?

This is true, but despite saying he'd post on the Stockholm show there's been no sign. I suggest if we don't hear by tonight latest that we skip to the next in line, which is Gerard, oherwise we will run out of time for this week.

By the way, my apologies for not posting my review. I was distracted the last 2 days with a family emergency which is thankfully happily resolved now. I can post it if you like (but I know it's late) or just incorporate a few things into the summary when I do it.

No need, I'm here. I just never posted last night, that's all. In other news, I saw U2 3D for the fourth time last night with my Dad. He was very impressed and he's hard to impress.

    Moderator’s Notes:

    1992-06-11 - Stockholm, Sweden - Globen

    General Jots:

--Zoo Station & The Fly always set the atmosphere right.
--Even Better Than the Real Thing killed.
--I loved the shouting during the beginning of Mysterious Ways.
--Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses is good but not quite right.
--More "fish needs a bicycle!" Yay!
--Dancing Queen was incredible. Hooray for Bjorn and Benny.
--Bad sounded strange to me. Both in structure and that crazy effect that Edge uses.
--Bullet... Oh... My... God. They sounded like they wanted to take on the entire world and win.
--Nice to hear Stand by Me. Still a magnificent song.
--Desire & Ultra Violet were incredible as well.

    Final Thoughts:

Now this is a show to admire. The band was on fire (even though Bono was exhausted by the end) and the crowd was very passionate. If I performed this gig, I'd be on Cloud Nine. The audio quality was excellent as well. By the way, that John is a lucky freaking sap!

P.S. You Europeans have what I call Passionate Mannered Insanity. I mean that in the highest compliment.

    ---

My pick for the next gig shall be...

1997-09-20 - Reggio Emilia, Italy - Festival Site

  7. PS

I know I now have 2 summaries owing. Bare with me....

(I'm waiting on hearing back from Tim for the Stockholm one as it was his show and we haven't heard from him)

And I don't think a summary for Stockholm is going to be too challenging.
    Or is it.....
  8. I WANT to do this one, it's been a while since I've listened to Popmart.
I'm in, hopefully I'll make it.

I'll add you. No harm in trying to get it listened to.
  10. I'm in. Currently listening to ZooTV Stockholm, will post about that one too in a while.
  11. Great, count me in too. Not that keen on Popmart, but a 5-star audience (imagining 150.000 souls watching my favourite band) is hard to refuse....
  12. 1992-06-11 Stockholm
    Dancing Zoo TV[/b]
I'm a little late, and I rarely appear in this thread but I saw this show and I reckoned I should listen to it. It was one of my first U2 bootlegs, I remember the shouting of the "I love you Bono" girl from many years ago.

Summary of my first listen in months:
+ I absolutely love the "I could've lost you" intro of the first legs of ZooTV, stunning.
    + One, great outtro
+ Until The End Of The World, classic rock and roll
+ Wild Horses, kick ass, great song
+ Dancing Queen! Edge! Replayed this song to sing along one more time.
+ Stand By Me idem dito

    Great quotes:
"In Sweden we don't wear underpants"
"This is for one of the greatest photographers ever lived, this is for Anton Corbijn" (first time I heard this bootleg I had no idea he is a Dutch man)

    Sound
Great sounding bootleg, one of the best in this era and one of the audible ones to listen to.

    Crowd
Fantastic, memorable: the crowd kept singing "oh-oh-oh-oh" after Dancing Queen.

    Performance
U2 was in great mood, as they were often during ZooTV.

Men, it would be great if people could add these reviews to the bootleg section. Wait, this is still on my todo list. Wait for it in 2008!
