    Excellent, succinct, first review of the audio bootleg. Very quick. Very on the money too.

    Note: Hopefully all you reviewers have the video already (if you plan too) else you're not playing by the rules....

    Hahaha..heard it today. Indeed sucks...I'm reviewing the audio, might get the video instead, but without a membership, it quite sucks. I'll let you guys know if I get the video.

    haha. I'll do it proper during the week. I was hoping to raise a point about the audio available here. On this site we don't always have thee beset versions of a particular recording or indeed any lineage to go with it so these audio/video reviews may conflict. The difference in audio from the bootleg to the video is huge and unfortunate. It was the same with the last East Rutherford Elevation gig.

    Sound
    I personally wasn’t a huge fan of the sound of this bootleg, even the better video version. In my opinion, the drums weren’t properly mic'ed, and Larry’s snare sounded a little too deep and booming. I also would have liked to hear a little bit more crowd noise in the mix, but this could have been due to the fact that the audience didn’t really seem into the show. Compared to other bootlegs, this is still a 5 out of 5 stars, but I personally didn’t prefer the way they mixed it.

    Video
    I’m pretty amazed at the way the video has held up after all these years. Picture is really clear for the most part, and we don’t have those tacky video effects that we had last week with Dortmund. Great video.

    Random Thoughts
    Edge and Adam seem to be playing angry for this show, (most noticeably in “Electric Co.”) and I’ve got to say I like it!

    No offense to our German friends here at U2Start, but there are some really scary looking people in the audience of this show, especially the guy drinking out of a gas can between “Electric Co.” and “Twilight.” I wouldn’t want to meet that guy in a dark alley.

    Good sized crowd, but for the most part they seem pretty dead. Random clappers scattered throughout, but most of them look like they either wish they were somewhere else or they don’t know what to make of U2. It’s almost as if Bono has to crawl up on the barriers right in front of them for them to wake up. What a shame, since I’m sure we all would pay $500 to see them live during this era.

    I laughed outloud during the random scenery shots of “An Cat Dubh.”

    I swear I saw two guys in the front row shouting “Free Bird!!!” during the break between “Into the Heart” and “Surrender.” Anyone else notice this?

    Never realized that Edge plays the pedal steel in “Surrender.” It was nice to see them perform a song that I’ve never seen live before, but to me, it got old and repetitive really fast. (NOTE: I just changed my mind after watching Bono fall off the barrier and onto his back. That’ll add some excitement to the song!)

    I feel like Larry didn’t establish his “drumming face” until sometime later in their career…(Between the Unforgettable Fire tour and the Joshua Tree tour? ZooTV? Popmart? I don’t really know.) He looks like he’s in pain during “Seconds” but watching him on the Vertigo tour, he’s calm, cool, and collected.

    During the backstage pre-encore bit, I mistook Adam for Annie Lennox. I’m not kidding.
