1. Right, The Dancing Zoo TV, I get to watch this one instead of listening!
I like your choice, I hope it's ok with others and isn't considered an "obvious" bootleg.

Ahh, I didn't know it was an obvious choice, or could be considered obvious. What's the story behind it's fame then?

it's a pro-shot and it sounds awesome and the performance is awesome. Thats about good enough. I'm all burned out on ZooTV and with my Dublin trip I may be stuck for time so I may not be able to review but I shall still try and contribute in my own way.

I agree about the performance, it is great. Might have to try and get my hands on this pro-shot though.

I agree. It was a bit silly..as if some folks didn't care while Bono sung one of the best MLK's I've heard.
  6. And good choice, Tim. That is a great show you picked! Heard it before and I''m in!

Why have I chosen the bootleg?

Well I don't own many bootlegs to fully consider a broad spectrum of bootlegs, so decided to choose one from one of my favourite eras of their career. It also happens to be my most listened to bootleg from this era and of any era for that matter. So it must be good? I think it is.

  11. 1990-01-06 - Rotterdam, Netherlands - Sportpaleis Ahoy
    -----------------------------------

    The Recording: 4/5

    >> Positive…

    - One of my favorite audience recordings.
    - The audience was into it from the start of the set to the end.
    >> Negative…

    - As with many recordings, Bono's vocals overpower Larry's Drums and Adam's bass.

    The Show: 5/5

    - I've always had a fondness of the pairing of Streets and I Will Follow. Don't know why, but they seem to work extremely well together.

    - The last performance of The Unforgettable Fire. This version had such power and emotion, one of the best live versions of one of my all time favorites. I would love to hear it on the next tour

    - God Part II was amazing. They mastered this song, and I don't think I've heard a bad version of it. As with TUF, I would love to see this one in the setlist for the next tour.

    - Bono used some very interesting snippets in this show, but they fit well.

    - Bono's voice was spot on. Which is truly amazing considering they had to postpone these gigs do to "some pretty psychedelic germs having their Annual General Meeting" in his throat.

    - Van Dieman's Land was good as always. Edge is a very talented songwriter.

    - Love Rescue Me completely bores me. I've not really heard a version of this song that "Moved" me.

    - You can't go wrong with 40 ending the show. The only song that could maybe top it as an ender is Bad. And that's a big maybe.

    Overall:
I think this is the best show we've listened to. I loved it, as with all of the Rotterdam shows. This show really epitomizes what Lovetown was all about. If you've never heard a Lovetown show, grab this one. It sums up the tour in one show. My only complaint is that I would've liked to have seen Bad in the set. Other than that, it was a great listen, as it was when I listened to it months ago. I think that Lovetown is U2's most underrated tour, but quite possibly the best in terms of performance. It was simple, but great. You can tell the band was working hard to fine-tune their live shows, which would payoff during Zoo TV.
  12. Count me in again! Another one of the best ZooTV bootlegs.
