I agree that buying stuff online is much faster, but as anyone who has had the pleasure would agree I'm sure, nothing beats going to a record show / store and finding a hidden gem within the piles. I found a SBS 12" at a Mall flea market in Peterborough, Ontario.....all 4 CD singles from R&H at a back alley record store in Montreal.....right next to an Adult video store which I never noticed and my brother had to tell me later as they were all laughing at me....now THAT'S a fan!......I found Desire, The Fly, HMTMKMKM, JT Singles, TUF singles all on 45 just by looking. It's a cool feeling.
IMO, singles are really fully experienced on 45.....especially the ones like Desire, WOWY and One that have amazing b-sides....that and it spells out in black and white (or Sunburst if it's early U2
