    Not the cheapest hobby in the world it's true. Especially the trip I've just booked as it's just my wife and me.

    Cheapest way is to drive or get a Sleazy-Jet to Geneva then get yourself in a last-minute booking in a chalet (choose resort based on weather reports just before). If a group of 6-8 go and fill the room, it's pretty cheap. Can do it for £400-500 inclusing food and lift passes. Then it's just beer money. (Well, cheap is relative I guess....)

That is, you can not get more than 128 DSL for your home...you can get more for offices but not for homes

    The "Restricting Government", eh? 128 DSL for homes only is a bit of a turn off.

    I thought Telstra were bad here limiting the line to what they wanted to (theoretically 30Mbps and that costs you upwards of $200 per month) - but the Government? Are they looking after the connections better than the ISPs?

    I just said what the low-end is in the US and if he was only occasionally downloading bootlegs. RapidShare still open for you there?
  11. Rapidshare's still open. The government issued an order to all ISPs that they are not allowed to give more speed to home users...I suppose the rationale has been "stopping the young getting pornographic movies, so that the society is protected" or something like that
    They still get the movies if they want...it just takes some more time

    ...something like that...I know people who have registered a company in their name (You need 3 people and a 100 USD to start a company, so the guy and his parents make 3 people, and they have a 100 dollars!) so that they can get faster connections!
