I was raised Catholic, but I just don't see the point of it. Why try to live a perfect life being reminded every day that you aren't. And I'm not saying I am perfect, no one is.
U2 has taught me some stuff. I have another story, but now aint the time.
I'm no "hippy" or "pacifist". I feel that a person should be able to go around, and not have to "convert" folks or even be afraid of something. I believe in something greater - emotions.
Why believe that there is someone always watching you? Critisizing you for everything you do. I like to think our emotions are the greater being. We always seem to follow them all the time.
I believe in heaven and hell, heaven is for the folks who live peacefully and are true in their heart. Hell is for those who, well are assholes and pricks. The folks who get a laugh out of someone else's pain.
I like to believe people are essentially good.... it's who raised them and personal experiences that define our character. What turns people "bad" is greed and jealousy. If you avoid those two things, you're essentially happy with what ya got. Sure, it's our nature to always want more, but a person can learn to control themself.
Like I said, I believe in Peace + Love
And I think John Lennon and U2 have the right ideas in some cases.
