not all the time and not to all ears. Lossless is what was recorded, the full uncompresses recordings. One song can be as much as 50MB. A typical mp3 is 5MB, so if an mp3 is ten times smaller through compression then some quality is lost. I'd only recommend lossless if you listen to your bootlegs on a decent hi-fi system. Not ideal for mp3 player listening
I see. And since I do most of my listening on a less-than-stellar system, and have very limited harddrive space, I don't think lossless is for me. Thanks for the info!
