A typical mp3 is 5MB, so if an mp3 is ten times smaller through compression then some quality is lost. I'd only recommend lossless if you listen to your bootlegs on a decent hi-fi system. Not ideal for mp3 player listening

I see. And since I do most of my listening on a less-than-stellar system, and have very limited harddrive space, I don't think lossless is for me. Thanks for the info!

if you want to test your ears try this. Take a CD (proper official CD) and put it in your hi-fi and play a song at a set volume. Now take a CD and rip it to your PC thus converting it to mp3 then burn those files to a disc. Now play the same song at the same volume and see if you hear the difference. You should be able to.
  3. If anything, you should reserves it for the best shows in the history of ever.

  12. Do you ever get so immersed into what you're listening to or what you're watching, that you reach this meditative state where the world fades out and all that's left is the art and your thoughts?
