    EDIT - Yeah you can, tis a prime example; Aerosmith + Run DMC is another (although granted, it's not necessarily a ballad, tis just a great example of cross-genre fusion) . She's not singing it as an R'n'B number, she's singing with soul and passion and is partly why I love it, not to mention that I just think it's great to have an updated version of a classic song. It's timeless in whatever form. I just think she has a great voice anyway lol.
