    believe it or not but all ove the above problems come as standard with the new ipod classic. Brutal eh? I'm gna send it back and try another unit and see if its any better

    some yes but I didn't expect the audio quality to be as bad as a mobile phone. This is a $250 audio player. You can only expect better

    I'm gonna stick with my 5th gen U2. I might buy an old 4th gen just to have a "Historic" iPod.

    my 4th Gen looks so dated next to the classic but still cool . . . . .albeit in a vintage way

    Just out of interest Gerard, are you running the latest iTunes - I only ask as I had this problem with the first version of iTunes 7 and had to go back to iTunes 6 temporarily. The latest update seems to have fixed that bug (at least on the 5th Gen video iPod I have).
