  1. out of interest does anyone know how much royalties the writers recieve from DVD sales as it stands?

    I should know this off the top of my head, but i don't. I had heard at one point that it's about 4 cents per DVD sold currently, but the big issue is about getting those residuals for things shown on the internet.

    EDIT: That might actually be 4 cents per dollar...not sure. Looking into it....

    4 cents. God that really isn't a lot for writing the material thats on the disc.

    Yeah, especially if you take into consideration that you're watching about 10+ hours of TV in those box sets.

    Yeah...I mean, it's biased to one side of the issue, but they present it really well, and they do clarify: the writers currently get 4 cents on a $20 DVD sale.
