  1. I saw that last week. Bloody awesome. Something like a 180mph wind. He flew back around and landed without a hitch right after this. Awesome

  4. As somewhat of an airplane and airliner enthusiast, I'm amazed that they even had him land on that particular runway given the crosswind....

    apparently it was a freak gust of wind. It looks like he was committed to the landing. Amazing that he landed 10 minutes later without a hitch

    It really is. But I read that after what happened, he was finally able to convince the control tower to let him land on a perpendicular runway instead of the one he originally tried on.

    bonkers either way. That left wing tip was inches from the tarmac. I'm surprised that we can't see any sparks

    So did he set the wing in the grass? Did you see the pictures of the wing afterwards?

    Yeah, I saw a picture on CNN over here of it....I think it was taken by a passenger from the plane. And to answer my earlier question, the tower actually did offer the other runway first!
