    Ah, okay. The reason I ask is because my girlfriend is actually British, although she's lived here since she was 4. Born in Bradford (I think? Maybe by Leeds?) and her father's originally from Liverpool and her mother's from London. I think we're trying to plan a trip there in '09 sometime.

    No, the green is misleading. It's a long 'mountain'-range that runs down the middle of northern England; often referred to as the 'spine of England'. It's not very high, only 800m at it's highest point, but some of it is very bleak and wild. Some good walking to be had.

    Of course, the mountains in the Lakes are higher and better
