1. For my sociology class, I had to read a book and write a 10 pg paper on Chicago's History and I chose to read The Adventures of Augie March. When I googled Augie March yesterday I found out that that there is actually an Australian band named Augie March. I listened to a couple of their tunes on Myspace, I really liked them

I know there's a few Australians on here and I was wondering if you know anything more about this band? Thanks!

Our internet provider was bought by a bigger company, so everything was being switched over. Quite a pain, as they have the worst customer service I've ever seen. Certain TV channels were out all of last week. Annoying, but we got a month's free cable out of it. LOL

Sounds like Comcast (poor). Anyway, how are we all - and thanks for the birthday wishes too.

Augie March are a kind-of alternative rock band from Melbourne, got together in 1996. Albums include Moo, You Bloody Choir and a song, One Crowded Hour got to number one on the Australian Triple J Hottest 100 in 2006. They've been on record labels RA Records and SonyBMG.

Check out http://www.augie-march.com/ for their stuff and you can buy some records and merchandise online too.
  3. cool, thanks. do you particularly like them? i might search at the local best buy and see if they have their album, if not i'll probably just listen to them online, since i don't believe in buying music from iTunes.

I avoid iTunes like the plague unless I get a free card given to me. But they're not too bad, the vocalist has a brilliant voice.

Nope, I'm originally from the Pacific Northwest, so the Mariners are my team.... your a Cubbie fan, right?
  10. Mariners, eh? How are they supposed to be this year? I don't know much about the Mariners other than that Ichiro is on the team. Lou is a great manager for the Cubs as he was for Seattle.

Yeah, I am a Cubbie fan. Born and raised on the Southside..... its very hard growing up in those parts and not being a Sox fan. I love the Cubs, sometimes too much.... I pray that this is the year and no curses jump in our way! Ha.

I'm actually going to the game on Sat...I'm hoping to be 2-0 so far this season.

Nice! I was up in Seattle last weekend and got to go to a game, but unfortunately they lost. The Mariners are kind of like the Cubs....it's never their year. Even back in 2001 when they won 116 games, they lost in the playoffs. Although, surprisingly, the ESPN insiders are picking the Mariners to win the AL West, so we'll see. Just yesterday I bought the MLB.TV package where I can steam all out-of-market games on my computer (and hooked that up to my TV) so I'm set watching the Mariners games this season!

I think that year they played (and beat) the White Sox in the first round...er maybe it was 2000? I can't remember, but I do remember being happy that the Sox lost!
