1. Combine that with the fact that he has a pretty unique voice, and its no wonder he still has fans.
  2. I am off for today. C ya
  3. Really bizarre query - according to www.u2gigs.com, So Cruel was played 3 times as a song in its own right during ZooTV;

    · 1992-08-22 - Foxboro, Massachusetts - Foxboro Stadium
    · 1992-09-09 - Pontiac, Michigan - Pontiac Silverdome
    · 1992-09-15 - Tinley Park, Illinois - World Music Ampitheater

Now, the first 2 boots exist on here, but the 3rd show doesn't lol! Is it a case of no one being able to find a boot or that they made this show up lol? The Foxboro show only has half the song, 'cause the claim is that Bono only sang half of it on his own? And the Michigan show only has the first 9 tracks because it's part of the "Eye Of The Fly" show or something?

  4. Alright, I'm outta here. It's almost 1pm and I haven't done anything today.

    Not made up I think..

Foxboro is where it's at for So Cruel live.

Argh. Tis a great shame then. They better do a fine song justice and revive it on the next tour, preferably an electric version; if not at least a stripped down acoustic version...well that's what I think anyway!

How is the lord of the lakes tonight?

Much better thank you. Enjoying the quiet tonight as am on-call tomorrow

I would love it to be resurrected but think it to be a deeply-layered song that would be difficult to do justice live.

Glad to hear of your wellbeing it would not too to be down in the doldrums I say

Hmmm...well, I'm thinking that you could have Bono doing the piano part ('cause it's not exactly a concerto in Dminor , and versions of The Sweetest Thing during Elevation suggest he's capable of playing/singing in tandem), and when it comes to the last verse, he can throw a couple of chords in, Adam and Larry doing what they usually do and Edge doing his thing on whatever guitar he chooses to use...I'd like to think that such a plan to be not inconceivable lol.

Of course, they could do what they do for stuff like Streets, BD etc. and have the PA playing something along with them...

What makes me laugh though, to be honest, is that everyone goes on about what songs they think should be played on the next tour and come up with dozens of worthy songs as suggestions, and yet we seem to pass over the fact that the next tour is going to be to promote a new album with ANOTHER 12 songs or so to include on a setlist!...can you fit enough songs into one show lol?

yep by dropping Elevation, I Will Follow, I Still Haven't Found, Mysterious Ways, WOWY, Bullet, Sunday Bloody Sunday etc etc. I'd skip on all of those to here a Vertigo Discotheque, Mofo or Ultraviolet

    lol. Ever the cynic

Elevation, Bullet, SBS, Mysterious Ways should definitely be used with economy I reckon, whilst IWF, ISHFWILF and WOWY still stand tall for me and should still be used fairly commonly. But the 3 you put forward would be interesting - I just don't think Mofo would quite work, although that said we've yet to see what the new album will bring. If it does indeed have all these Trance, Dance and Metal influences, it probably would fit right in

UltraViolet should be brought back from retirement ASAP. And the Vertigo Discotheque was definitely a great arrangement...
