  1. I posted a list of 'must-play' U2 songs the other day. I think it was:-

    I Will Follow (or Out of Control)
    New Year's Day
    Sunday Bloody Sunday
    Bad
    Pride
    Streets
    WOWY
    Bullet
    One
    The Fly/UTEOTW
    Stay
    Beautiful Day
    Vertigo

    If you expect 12 of those 13 to be played, which isn't unrealistic, then 8 or 9 of the new album (depending on quality lol), that leaves 2-3 for 'unexpected surprises'; of which

    Gloria
    Please
    ISHFWILF
    RTSS
    Kite
    COBL
    Elevation
    Mofo
    ASOH
    TUF
    So Cruel
    Discotheque
    Acrobat
    Ultraviolet

    etc etc all have good claims

    I'd like to see them played regardless, in all honesty...the fact they get played at pretty much every show these days does leave something new to be desired but audiences still love it when they get played so...I dunno. Unless they decide to use them more sparingly, I think you'd need to organise a campaign where people hold up banners at shows saying "We love U2 but stop playing Pride and SBS so much!" or something...

    *I love Stay but I wouldn't imagine for a moment that it's a song that I'd expect nor want to be played at EVERY gig, whereas COBL is more likely to go into that category for me - a song that was played at pretty much every show and was ranked as one of the best songs of Atomic Bomb is far more likely to get major playing time than something like Stay lol...

    Of course, the likelihood is that I'm talking bollocks, but you never know lol.
