    Aside from trivial matters, I bought the "Classic Rock" magazine today (in a moment of madness), and in a top 50 live bands of all time (rock, that is), Muse were voted 49th (or 50th, either way I was quite shocked at such low ranking) AND U2 were at 26th.

    I was shocked even more by that.



    I mean, no, I haven't seen people like Metallica, Led Zep. Rolling Stones etc. perform live (for Aaron's interest, Rush were included somewhere in the 40s I think ), BUT I MEAN CLEARLY the people who came up with that list didn't watch ZooTV or PopMart...

    U2 never do well in those sort of lists. I've no idea why. Edge never makes it into 'Best Guitar God' lists, nor do his riffs make it into 'Super-Legendary-Orgasmic-made in the 70's-Wow-You'Da Axeman-Best Riffs of All Time (as long as they were in the 70's (or G'n'R)) Lists either.

    No sense. There's an agenda for sure.

    What's missing is they didn't see Slane.....

    Currently, yes

    Just finished a lambing and am waiting for my boots / top to dry before I head home.

    lol I have realised that a way of keeping a lid on my ever-increasing post count (a bit of a misnomer because everyone's count is rising because it's a logical impossibility to decrease...- shut UP Harry lol...) is by including everything I need to say on one post. Hence the current trend in beastly posts. And I don't even know if I meant to say "too many posts in one...post" lol...:S

    But yeah, I mean Edge was included on Rolling Stones' greatest ever guitarists but again, it was something like the late 20s or something, whilst War, JT, AB and either TUF or ATYCLB (buggered if I remember which one it was of the latter 2) were scattered about in their top 500 albums of all time....JT I think was just in the top 100? Shocking.

    People seem to miss the point that great rock music doesn't have to contain ridiculous solos, excessive use of double bass pedals (although that's more metal) and shouting. The live solo to Love Is Blindness is, in my humble opinion, one of the finest EVER devised - it's coming straight from the heart and through the amp. Sheer exhiliration

    And yes, how did I forget Slane!

    This is true, ALTHOUGH I think it's more fun to read amazingly fat arse posts PLUS it's easier to keep up to date with everything instead of trawling through 3 pages on a thread to find a relevant post to reply too lol...

    And yes - LIB. One of the most criminally underrated songs ever, and live one of the most criminally underrated pieces of guitar work ever. Yes I am repeating myself BUT I DON'T CARE! lol.

    It's a song worthy of unlimited amounts of praise.
