  4. and we're having troubles with Hungarians again...................

  5. a long history + incident from this weekend

Slovakia and a couple of other countries (majority Slavic) were a part of Kingdom of Hungary for almost 1000 years. Hungarians oppressed other nationalities and we have very bad realtionships with them.

Now there was a football match in Slovak football league between a team from our capital and a team from a town where a lot of inhabitants are Hungarians. Some fans from Hungary came to support the club from that town and brang Hungarian flags with them, shouting Ria-Ria-Hungaria during the match and they even took a map of Kingdom of Hungary. Provoking? Well, just a little bit yes. Then the fans of the both clubs started to set some small fires, fireworks etc. and policemen came to calm the situation down. Both sides of fans were agressive so the police had to fight with them. People supporting both clubs were injured, but the Hungarian governmet said that it was an anti-Hungarian attack. Now there are protests in front of Slovak embassy in Budapest, Hungarians are shouting anti-Slovak slogans, tearing and burning Slovak flags.

One thing I really don't get- why the hell did the people from Budapest come to the match which was played by two clubs which mean nothing to them? That's real provocation from Hungarian side. And yes, that map of Kingdom of Hungary offended me.

anything left to say? VIVA TRIANON

I'm a die hard Obama supporter, but I am always proud to be an American. I refuse to let those on the right proclaim their version of America definitive. I am very excited about tomorrow, but damn I'm nervous.
