1. The obvious example for me would be Zapatero, Spain's current president.... But just to put a known example for you, Tony Blair is (was) moderate socialism.
  2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Communist_Party_USA

But despite their overall loss of influence, the CPUSA does continue to exist as an organization, today under the leadership of Sam Webb. Webb asserts a current figure of around 15,000 in party membership, which has been disputed as an overestimate.

USA has population of 309,338,000. So, 15.000 is 0,004% of the USA population.
  3. I didn't even know there was a Communist Party in the US.

  4. That's my point. They never had any significant role in USA and yet they are afraid of it more then they're of Korea or anyone else.

People in my country lived for years in socialism and now they don't even give a fuck about it.

  5. I'm not sure whether the New Labour was a good thing for Britain or not, the country seems to be devastated after 13 years of their government.

By the way, from some reading on Blair I've done, it appears that he wouldn't have had much trouble with being the Primie Minister for the Conservative Party either.

13 years is way too much, but 6-8 years of a socialist government can only do good to a country. Social politics, improving and impulsing education and public health...... That are the basis of moderate socialism. That can't be bad for a country.

Yeah, he's a very very very moderate socialist. I just meant that kind of government, etc. You understood me anyway

We've had such for 4 years and we're screwed now. If this socialist government remains at power after the next general election (June 12th), I'm leaving.

When talking about governments, it doesn't matter where they belong, left or right, the only thing that matters is how good and capable are people that are in the goverment. Left, or right, people can be bad and corrupted.

Well, this last 4-6 years can not be used as reference, every socialist or conservative government has epically failed, but they're not to be blamed; there's nothing to do against a global crisis, you can only do your best, whether you're a conservative or socialist government. But I don't think it's that bad, really. Ok, socialist parties on the ex-USSR block tend to be a lot more extreme (and corrupt!!) than anywhere else, but.....

My country has existed in its current form for not more than 18 years, so the last 4 years indeed can be used as a reference in my case. The rightist government (1998-2006) brought the country to prosperity, the current leftist is ruining it - and that is a fact, not my biased observation (funny fact, they use the crisis as the excuse for everything). And it's not just because the rightist government did good for the country, it's also the opinions and values themselves why I decide to put myself on the right. I personally think that the history of my country, in whatever of its historical forms, as well as the global history shows that neither communism nor socialism work. Capitalism gave my parents, therefore me a good life, that's why I like it and don't care about Marx and others like him and their theories.
  12. Since when are all socialists communists? I wont vote for them, but I cant do anything but laugh at the ridiculous fears in America. They never saw commies up close, seems like the Cold War propaganda did its job well.

You guys are way to busy by categorizing people. Just vote who you like and let the rest be. Stop the silly witch hunts.
