1. Only a few weeks out before U.S. decides who will run the most powerful office in the world and we are still in a policy-free zone.

Both candidates have articulated what, in very general terms, values they stand for but I am still none the wiser about how they plan to do their job exactly.

For instance, the U.S. (perhaps the world) is in arguably the biggest financial crisis since the Great Depression and neither candidate has delivered anything that even resembles an economic plan or policy.

As Barbara Walters rightly said the other day . . . "The economy is in a desperate state, it's falling apart and we're discussing such trivia."

Perhaps if the media made a conscious editorial decision not to report on the personal, inocuous stuff and force the candidates to articulate something of substance, we might actually get somewhere.

Mitt Romney is a financial genious.....
  3. Tis interesting, at my halls of residence we've got a lot of international students, particularly from the States, and I'd say 95% of them are all Obama-ites, and get really surprised when they read our press putting negative stuff about him in, because they all seem to generally agree that McCain doesn't stand a chance in hell. The things you hear when watching Finding Nemo of a night lol...
  4. Policy free zone? When has that not been the case? American citizens have long ago traded substance for form. What was the rap against Dukakis? He's too short. Hillary? She has fat ankles. The only thing that makes us sit up and take notice is when our wallets are hit. We're all too willing to trade our civil rights for the perception of safety, but when gas goes up, look out. I'm not an America basher, just disappointed that we have allowed ourselves to be lulled to sleep by the sex and glitz, and have squandered much of our enormous potential. I love my country and am angry at what we are becoming. We need to look in the mirror and recognize that we get the leaders that we deserve. If we have suffered through eight years of political disaster, it is because we have allowed it to happen.

we allowed it to happen by voting for a moron...twice. We didn't learn our lesson in 2004? Imagine how different the world would be if Gore or Kerry were elected...

  7. What about the final debate? What do our american users think?

  8. Obviously I'm not one of the Americans in our community, but to me it looks like McCain's ticker has just given up lol...

  9. And that guy tries to become president of the biggest country in the world?

*I don't know why, but I had to think of the Adam's Family when I looked at McCain...

  10. that "gesture" is because he was getting off the stage from the wrong side...that's when he realized his mistake

Okay...that makes a lot of sense...
Still...this pic, this little mistake, could ruin the campaign for him... he doesn't look presidential here...
  12. If the Democratic party weren't the Chicago Cubs of politcs I would be claiming the race over at this point. Obama was seen as the winner of all 3 debates, and is increasing his lead daily, but I won't be convinced until Nov 5.
