Absolutely, it's far more superior to the U2 today.

But it's absolutely awesome, just finished watching it all and it blew me away. Performances of With Or Without You, Bad, Party Girl, Electric Co., I Will Follow, awesome

Sounds brilliant, thanks for letting me know. I shall reserve judgment on the posts above this one until I've seen it myself. I'm quite happy with the band we have today.....

They were YOUNG. For me, it's ridiculous when people compare their late 80's work with work they're doing today. They write soundtrack for their lives. They're not one of the bands that at the age of 378 think they're fucking teenagers and write songs about chasing females down the hill : ))). You can't write song as "Out of Control" when you're almost 50 years old. And you wouldn't be able to write song as "City of Blinding Lights" in the age of 18.

For me, every album (except War) is master-piece 'cos everyone has it's place in the parts of THEIRS and OURS lives. And I'm 100% sure they'll never disappoint me.

They were on fire 'cos they were young. Every normal young person has that rage within self. And Bono still at the age he is has more rage in himself then most of us will ever have.
  7. how nice of sinterklaas men !!!

I wonder why he doesn't show it then?!
To me it's not the songs they write these days but how they perform. Just compare In gods country, Pride, Streets, Bullet from 1987 with 2001/05...
Also, U2 has always been a political band. But 10/20 years ago the engagement discharged into energetic performances. Today every concert turns into a make poverty history campaign with 15 minutes of the same monologues...

yea he did all his preaching in the old days through Sunday Bloody Sunday and Bullet etc. Nowdays it's a wholse stop the show for a chat affair. I didn't here one passionate performance of SBS on the Vertigo tour.

Was much of Vertigo passionate at all?

Maybe, they could get Jay Leno, Letterman and Oprah in for a few nights next tour for the chat affair.
