much debated but one of the Tempe Shows at the very end of the Joshua Tree Show. 19th and 20th December 1987
  3. thanks germcevoy, ill check it out
  4. I've heard that it's a studio recording with audience noise added. Look at Bono, at the end of the shows back in the '80ies he was usually soaked in sweat, on the RH version of WOWY he looks too fresh. You do never see the audience either. Check it out.

we had a big discussion about this a while back. Listen to the bootleg from the and 20th though and you'l notice that everything about that performance is identical to the one on the film. Bono's vocals are identical

Hmm. That could be possible indeed. I think we're never able to sort this out.
  7. Technically I think its from the Tempe show on the 20th. Rumor has it though that its the 19th and the 20th spliced together. Its definately not a studio recording though. Its them live with a shitload of remastering! LOL
  8. ohhh, i'd never heard of the rumour of studio with crowd added. still sounds great none the less no?
  9. I have nothing helpful to add other than this is one of my favorite performances. Three of us at my work were passing around the R&H DVD. One of them said, "I don't know if I'll have time to watch it tonight." I told her, "At least watch WOWY. It'll CHANGE YOUR LIFE." She listened to me -- smart girl!
  10. Actually, I prefer the actual versions of this song...it gets much stronger when played slower like it is now.
  11. My explanation for the Tempe-19-20-Studio-Fake-Etc problem is that the audio is actually the performance of Tempe 20th, but they must felt that the video was not OK and they re-recorded it (evidently with no sweat, no audience shots, etc etc). But it's not a Studio version, it was played there. As Gerard pointed, the audio is identical to the bootleg of Tempe 20th
