    Macca my day

He’s heading home and will pick up the biggest gong going at tonight’s MTV Awards.

But who is a big enough star to present an Ultimate Legend Award to Sir Paul McCartney in Liverpool?

Show organisers have done Macca, and themselves, proud as we can reveal MTV bosses have flown in U2’s Bono for the hand-over.

Let’s hope when the old chums get together they recreate their 2005 show-stopping Live 8 version of Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Heart’s Club Band.

A source said: “Channel chiefs have been in a massive quandary as to who to present the award to Liverpool’s most famous son.

“It is a first ever for MTV Europe to create a gong like this. It’s a one-off.”

A show insider tells us: “One thing’s for sure, Macca will certainly be bringing his guitar. It will be a flying visit but he’s not likely to come all the way to Liverpool without strumming us a song.

“Bono and him get on like a house on fire, and their presence will be the talk of the night.”

And that’s not the only duet on the cards.

We got a sneaky look at the schedule and it’s shaping up to be bootilicious.

We predict the top-secret performance of the night will be when Beyonce joins Estelle and Kanye West on stage. How many divas can you get in one room?

A source said: “It’s going to be similar to when Leona joined Lil Wayne at the American VMAs. It is going to be spectacular.”

Other stars attending the glitzy ceremony include Kid Rock, Pink, and Take That.

With this many surprises in store, we’re half expecting Robbie Williams to turn up!
  7. Good find Yeah.

    whats the chances . . . . . .
  8. Chances? I have no idea. Another paper already rejected the idea that Macca performs...but who knows.
Although, I would expect a semi-funny overdramatic speech, a peace sign and comment about diamonds and songwriting veins and that's it.
  9. Well the "Bono Gives Award To McCartney " theory is actually front page news in tonights Liverpool Echo, allegedly he's in Town,so we'll just have to see.And possibly check out the Arena for next year.Nah,it's way to small,it's alright for the likes of Oasis and Coldplay, but not THE boys..........
  10. Could you see the headlines: 'U2 BEST ACT EVER, AKON FALLS OFF STAGE'
    I'd love it...
  11. I can't decide who was more embarrassing, Macca or Bono...
