1. Good man.

    Killer apps:-

    Free
    Facebook
    Google
    Google Earth
FourFree (Connect Four rip-off - great time waster)
Flixster (Movie times, reviews etc - finds your local cinemas)
    Units (little convertor thing, great)
    Sol Free (Solitaire)
    Sudoku
    Tap Tap
    SB2 Lite (like pong)
    Hangman
Shakespeare (ok, it's dull, but all the plays in a free app is pretty cool)

    Paid
    Wurdle (like Boggle)
Tanzen (little brain teaser one - there is a free 'lite' version)
    iPedia+ (Wikipedia app)
    Flick Bowling (Ten Pin)
Motochaser (bike racing - if you get easily past level 2, please tell me how...)
Monkey Ball (great to show off but tricky)
    Cro-Mag (rally game)

  2. Mine will always open iPhoto in case there's any photo's saved since last time (hold on a picture in Safari and it will offer to save it to the disc).

But it opens iTunes and syncs too.

As you know, don't do Windows, so no specific advice I'm afraid. Drew will be up soon

  3. Congrats Gerard! I noticed after the 2.0 update, mine was recognised as a camera, which it never did on 1.1.4 or 1.1.5, and I tried various XP and Vista systems with XP Home, Pro, Vista Home Premium, Basic and Ultimate. Anyway, Apple says this:

When the iPhone or iPod touch is connected to a computer running Microsoft Windows Vista, a dialog is presented with choices for connecting a digital camera and working with the digital pictures stored on the iPhone or iPod touch.

This is the default behavior under Windows Vista for digital imaging devices. Windows Vista provides a way to disable this notification on a per-device basis.
    Products affected

    To disable this notification:

Connect iPhone or iPod touch to the Windows Vista computer.

From the Start menu, choose Control Panel.

In Control Panel, choose Hardware and Sound.

In Hardware and Sound, choose AutoPlay.

Scroll down to section labeled "Devices" where it will list Apple iPhone or iPod touch.

Choose Take no action from the device pop-up menu.

    Click Save.

iCopter is one of the best games on the touch on the App Store and so is Cannon Game. Simple, yet hellishly addictive and make great use of the accelerometer (when you tilt the touch). I gotta get an iTunes card for the paid games - the jailbroken selection is a bit crap.

Does Tap Tap Revenge actually work with your music library? I wanna tap to Thriller!
  4. Got it working fellas and syncd 11gb of music. Lovely.

Tell me this, when downloading apps it asks for a login. Do i need to set one up and where cn I do so?

  5. Not at present I don't think. As a free app it has limitations. You can download loads of things though.

You need an iTunes store account. You can do that within iTunes. It will ask for an e-mail, password and credit card details. Once it's set up on iTunes, the iTouch will automatically recognise and when you go to download an app (or a song from the iTouch iTunes store) then it will ask for the password. Tap in the one you gave above and all done.

I'll get on to that. Love the darn thing but I have 2 minor gripes. Using it is a 2 handed affair and it doesn't charge on the Bose sound do do which I hope can be fixed because I don't want to buy the new speaker as it's identical to mine

Know nothing about the Bose (but that sounds a damn shame...) but I do use it mainly as a one-handed device now. You get used to it. The thumb becomes very dextrous!

  8. Nice link Gary. Still takes you to the App Store though.
It has pwn and all that stuff Drew goes on about. Still not brave enough to do it myself - fearful of fucking it all up and buggering my glorious touch.

  11. Not as ergonomic as a clickwheel and I'll certainly not be getting a touchscreen mobile anytime soon.
