I did and it doesn't work. I had it going last time, but I've since updated the firmware, but it doesn't want to work this time around.
Pretty decent laptop there Ali. The Centrino should give you around 2.5 hours battery life (at a guess) and I think it's a 32bit processor, hence the reason for 3072MB RAM (3GB). But you'd think you'd get a Blu-Ray burner at that price.
Well worth it, even if it is a Sony. 9300MS for the kind of work you're doing is a bit light, but the 3GB RAM should carry it through if nothing else. The Mac laptop has the same sort of config (the high-end one), so I would see it has nothing better to offer (a 9400GS, I think) and a lesser hard drive, and 3 - 4GB RAM is the only real trade-off there.
The only way to really tell is to go the stores and try some out. That's the best thing.
