Is your iPod still among us?

ipods a hard little bastard so it survived. There was only minimal contact. Just slipped out of my hand as I was reaching over the screen

Bad luck Luckily it is not the other way around. These days an average monitor is cheaper than the touch.

it'l be interesting to get the repair quote. . . .especially as the the laptop was £400
  4. Sorry didn't know it was a laptop screen

Most of the time it is a lot cheaper to buy the part yourself and replace it yourself. I never done that before though Some companies have maintanance guides online that could help!

i'll get a few quotes first. The things only a moth old. I've disabled the monitor and i'm using my TV as the monitor via HDMI. Not a bad substitute

I hope it will turn out ok in the end

  7. Ok so it works amazingly, but now you mention Processes. It looks cool, but I don't know what it does. Will check that out on Cydia as soon as I can.

Right now I'm working on the music player and other various changes, but i now ask, how do you take a screen shot?

Hold the top lock button and press the home button to do a screenshot.

Processes ends the open programs you've got. You know when you press the home button to get out of iPod, Settings, Safari, Cydia etc, it doesn't always exit and so more memory goes to waste (and that's why some apps are slow). The Processes app lets you end those simply by pressing Delete or End, and you gain more memory (to 60MB) as a result of deleting those.

Just by ending the iPod process I can gain 29MB+ memory back. Think of it as the iPod Ctrl + Alt + Delete function.

I've redone my music player. No ugly Genius icon, the Now Playing button and Play icons are gone and the top is modified to look more blended, not a gradient. I tried the bottom bar with the play buttons as completely transparent but it just looked stupid; particularly for albums like HTDAAB and Pop.
  9. £130 for a repair
  10. next phone might have to be an iPhone. Seeing some interesting apps from the jailbroken phones they guys in work have
