Nothing fancy, but I like it.

There is a jailbreak for 3.0; problem being that most apps have to be re-written to be compatible. Which is a pain but it happens with all new releases of software - dependent on how it is coded, most things just won't work or cause errors. From what I'm hearing, none of the stuff like WinterBoard is compatible. Cydia is, I think, but not much else. And if you do upgrade, it's a pain in the arse getting back to your original software (2.2.x).

Wouldn't we all? But what do you mean by that second bit - I'm a little confused at 2.30am. Anyway, just ask as much as you want here and I'll try and answer them later on when I'm a little more awake and not dead to the world.
Oh yeah, there's four updates for Cydia which you might be interested in if you have them installed.

In other words, while 3.0 is amazing, everything has to be re-written. If that's the case, then a lot of the apps like winterboard and the gameboy app I finally found won't work, meaning 3.0 wouldn't be good for me at this time. Should I get the iPhone before the 3.0 upgrade?

You can get the iPhone because it can still be jailbroken, then just hold out for 3.0. If you want Winterboard, the Gameboy app etc for 3.0 you'll be waiting a while.
Originally posted by drewhiggins:I think you can. How you would is a whole other question.
I think you can get the phone now without going on a contract and just go pre-paid instead. So that would mean you still buy the SIM card from AT&T or whoever as pre-paid (not putting any credit on it), jailbreak as usual and then use yellowsnow in Cydia and use your normal 3G SIM. You probably want to use T-Mobile?
You'll have to stop by modmyi.com (ipodtouchfans are a lot stricter on that stuff) and ask them how.
Ay, you want a theme when it's done with darker buttons and less bright colours?
Originally posted by drewhiggins:I don't think it is. This is the buttons changed to more darker colours and transparent icons.
So there you go with the prepaid SIM.
