    my order was cancelled due to no stock. I have tried them though so read above. Ceiling mounting is tricky with the feet but they go on to the wall fine. I personally think ceiling is too high myself. Just above head height, slightly angled down is perfecg.
  2. Problem is that i only have 3 walls and one big window. Thats why I thought of the ceiling. Also my room is very long and I dont have any furniture behind me to put the rear speakers on.
    My current set came with stands but they cant be used on the Z5500. I m sure i can think of something though.

    I have seen someone mounting them on the ceiling using a very cheap convenient store brace thing. That might solve my problem. Or i need to make something myself to use my current stands.

    The popping issue should be fixed. Logitech promissed to solve issues of current owners as well. According a popular Dutch tech website.

    i'm also limited with space for rearward speakers as my seated position will back up on to a wall. Might need to redesign the room. These are perfect for me though until I get my own place and start adding other sources like cable, better computer and audio equipment which might then require a receiver. I've seen these priced at £175 at times so a real bargain.

    They have also been in production for over 5 years without a single update or new model so that really is the highest testament to their quality
  4. There have been 2 revisions, the first had problems with popping and unwanted radio reception. But that has been a while and Im sure only the newest are sold now

    175 GBP sounds very nice. Havent seen them for that price here. Will keep my eyes open for a few weeks though. Thanks for the advice

    in terms of specs though. The model itself hasn't been updated. I might hold off to christmas until reordering. Bloody car . . .

    Well I think i will hop out tonight to check what the prices are in the big shops near me. It seems pretty impossible to buy him here for less than 250. I have read that there have been some actions for 222 euro in the past. But Im afraid I wont find it cheaper.

    impatience is a bastard. Van't find anything lower than your price either. Amazing to think that these are PC speakers. . . . Make sure you have a decent sound card aswell. I'm sure you do though
  8. have to add a comment for that imgburn. Program. Its amazing. DVD burning at its simplest.

    I also need to split a few DL DVD's to 2 standard DVD's. Am II right in saying DVD shrink can do this?

    I don't But when you connect it using digital SPDIF interface (optical or coax) it doesnt care how good your soundcard is. It can send lossless LPCM stereo to the speakers and AC3/DTS surround as well. With a good soundcard you are more flexible but its not necessary at all for good quality.

    And imgburn is very good indeed Dont know about splitting though. Forum at Doom9.org is your best option

    I see I see. I'll just have the PS3 connecting directly to the pod via optical. Should get nearly the very best audio possible and surround sound. Might have to upgrade to a receiver though when I move because i'll need another optical connection for sky HD. These speakers have just the onne optical input


  12. that could do the trick indeed. Optical from each source into that. Not sure if my ears could hear the difference between Dolby Digital and DTS through optical and TrueHD via HDMI through a receiver. Though HDMI can do audio and vdeio through the one cable (but then you need another HDMI from amp to TV. Pros and cons. I'm sure i'll be happy with these.
