1. I just connect my VHS up to my DVD recorder, very easy if you have a DVD recorder
    EDIT: great minds . . .

I would go with that. On the PC its also 1:1 time because it works exactly like a video recorder. You can always rip the DVDs again.

  3. which I do. Haven't got terribly many TV's though. Might try it tonight
  4. some insanely cheap USB alternatives
  5. Cant you connect the VHS recorder directly on the DVD recorder? Should have a bit better quality.

  6. What I was thinking, i use a scart lead

  7. thats a fair point. Have no VHS recorder at the moment so i'll have to try it straight from the camcorder into the DVD recorder or TV

  8. just a tester. Cheap. The tapes themselves are 10-15 years old aswell so i'm not sure quality will be too hot to begin with. If it sucks i'll get the dvd recorder into action and do a 1:1 real time conversion
  9. Those things also do realtime conversion, not faster. Only advantage is more control of compression and the ability to edit the stuff on your pc.
