  1. 250 euros (= 235.113557 British pounds). Cheapest in Holland according some price comparison sites. I thought off holding off, but I knew I was gonna buy it anyway. So here it is.

    Its still all over the place. With some mods i can use my current stands and i will think of screwing the front speakers to the wall. The center speaker is now behind my monitor. Other two directly next to them. So for real surround experience i have to change all positions. But for now its good enough. Have plenty of studying to do
  2. in other tech news, that USB capture thing doesn't work. Just cannot get it to receive a signal threw my cables. All drivers installed and the software detects my webcam etc but will not read my camcorder source. Tried the red/white/yellow combos and the s-video lead but nothing gives
  3. That is strange Have you tried another PC? You should at least get some picture.

  6. The software bundle with it reads other sources like my TV and webcam. Think its just shite. Think i'm gonna go with camcorder to TV, TV> DVD recorder
  7. That is the foolproof choice

    My Z-5500 is now digitally connected to both PC and Laptop. My laptop is connected using the coaxial spdif port. I did use a non-coax cable though. The same used for audio/video you were talking about. They dont have a good isolation like real coax does. But it works fine Saves at least a few euro's. Also i bought the cheapest toslink cable: works fine

    I was able to select 24bit/96khz on both optical and coaxial connections. There is a slight delay when you start playback. The first 0.5sec is cut of by this. Note that this only happens when you connect it digitally and it may be faster on decent soundcards.

    The sub is amazing especially on SBD recordings you can feel Adam's bass on your chest. On AUD recordings (as i said before) the bass may sound ugly because low frequencies are a bitch to record in stadiums.

    whats the bass feedback like of the satellites alone? Does the sub have to be used at all times?


  9. Not so good, but thats why they are satellites. A tiny bit of sub is enough to compensate though
  10. sadly my Ipod has decided to give up on me, so any recommendations on a MP3 player over 8GB? I'm tempted by the new Ipod Nano but have heard good things about other players
  11. Did you give it a light whack on the back? Worked for me.

    The new nano looks cheap, not in price but build. The Sansa and iRiver players released a few weeks back look great and sound it too.
  12. Cheers Drew, I'm looking at those two now, the Iriver seems abit confusing but has good reviews, the Sansa looks pretty solid aswell. maybe time to turn my back on apple and speaking to the lovely "Britney" from their customber services
