    Ali, have you thought about using a proxy to anonymise you, or is that a risky proposition now? I know the Haystack Network created a product similar to China's Freegate for use in Iran to provide safe anonymous internet access. Whether it's something you can use, would be for you to judge.
  2. Umm... now you've gone above my head, don't know, will have to check that out. But I don't think there will be any complications on those stuff. A friend of mine did something similar to what I'm planning,but with a Blackberry, he got it in London. I'll check with him as well. Thanks for pointing that out.

  5. The great thing about each one is they are open-source, so you can make some great changes and publish them for people to check out.
  6. Have you considered Android Ali? Pretty similar to iPhone but its more open and doesn't need to be shut into any software like itunes. There's also a mass (and quickly increasing) number of apps available in the built in app store. The interface is highly modern and customizable (more than the iPhone) and the platform is only going to improve as more and more developers get on board. I've been using the HTC hero for around 2 months now and cannot recommend it enough.

    Actually, I have, but I wasn't sure if it is the right time, if it has the right platform yet. So is hero good? What's the best out there?

    The time is perfect and the Hero is the one. It was launched with 1.5 and is getting upgraded to 2.1 which makes it the most updated Android handset.

    Looks good. Gerard, you've worked with iPhone or iTouch, right? Anything on those that you miss on the Hero?
    Actually the good thing about HTC is that it is imported properly here, so the whole importing personally scenario will be unnecessary, and it's got good warranty companies here as well.

    Actually, I wished I could find anything other than the iPhone that would be as good. Because these days everyone has an iPhone here, there is no unique-ness to it. But the Hero...looks good, has the same abilities + better camera and better looks and maybe other stuff I don't know yet. And it's an Android Thanks for pointing it out Gerard. I'll have a better look at it and see if it really is as good as it sounds. What do you think Drew?
    And by the way, it's price here is half iPhone's price

    I think if you like and want something better and less restricted the Hero is the way to go. I was considering getting one originally but it wasn't out in Australia when I was up for buying a new phone, so hell go for it and enjoy it I say.

    Speaking of which I might just get one if Three have them.
