  1. Im sure it is possible to bypass the 'firewall' And the thing i just explained probably needs some tweaking, but if the android can connect to VPN networks or use proxies than it will be a lot easier

    It probably can, but the question is: does it work out of the box ?
  2. Guys, I know I've taken over this topic with my whole "new mobile" process...it's just that things are always very confusing here in Iran, as you can see I have to consider many more factors when getting a new phone and it can be really confusing at times. I'm sorry!
    Alright, I just needed to say that, cause I feel guilty having had the last few pages about helping me!

    I did some more research in Persian forums, and they have a solution for the apps thing which is what I said before, a new way for installing the file manager, and from there, you just copy whatever new app you want to the card and open it with the file manager.

    But my question still stands, because not all Android apps are available online outside the market...the changing ip thing...any help would be appreciated.

  4. Does anyone know how to burn a .rmvb to DVD? I've never heard of the format.


  5. It's something related to Real player I think...VLC plays it with no problems. I guess you have already searched google for it...I did a little search and came up with this:

  6. Ordered the N900 today

    If my calculations are correct it will be 600 euro's spread over 2 years, including minutes/sms/internet. Internet is a bit slow (cheapest subscription) but can always change that. Not bad if i say so myself.

    I hope i get it this week, ordered from the one and only shop in Holland who supposed to have that damn thing on stock. All other shops have waiting lists of a month or more

  8. Yeah well, I can keep waiting My current subscription expired so i was paying to much last months. Was either a sim only or a new phone.

    And in this case the N900 was pretty doable And if the next Maemo phone is launched like the N900 it wont be available to this day next year There are literately queues of more than a month for the phone. And I can go and pick it this next week Even better, if the info is correct I will receive it by mail on tuesday

    My only alternatives atm would be the HD2 (same price no internal storage, big disadvantage) or the to be released Android variant of that one.

    I just hope i dont have any stuck/dead pixels

    By the way: Did you buy the Z-5500? I must say the sub got a lot better since my first listen. Maybe I am getting used to the thing or it needed some hours of playback to get the sound balanced out. They do quite well for me

    BTW, the android equivalent of the HD2 is probably the Nexus One, same specs, but Android. The next big android phone coming out soon is the Xperia X10.

  11. Yeah the Google's Nexus One (built by HTC) is one alternative as well, but wont be available here till summer. So was not an option for me. I actually meant a new HTC-branded model, forgot the name. Had similar specs to the Hd2 but with android.

    I have bad experiences with SE. But i guess everyone has bad experiences with one brand or the other

    Have you decided which phone to get?

    Yep, definitely Android, and right now it's still the Hero. I'm guessing the Nexus One will get here later and with a very high price, as it won't have a proper importer due to it's selling mechanism. And also it doesn't have the sense ui and some other specs the hero has, like the multi-touch.
    I could also wait for the Xperia above, but even tho I've had good experience with SE, I don't think they're that good in the touch business, and this is their first Android, also it's too big, and will probably be too expensive anyway...
    It's still the Hero, but I have to see it in the store as well, see how it looks and feels up close. That will be in a month from now...
