1. And i can always try android :

  2. Nice good phone.
BTW, the android equivalent of the HD2 is probably the Nexus One, same specs, but Android. The next big android phone coming out soon is the Xperia X10.

  3. Yeah the Google's Nexus One (built by HTC) is one alternative as well, but wont be available here till summer. So was not an option for me. I actually meant a new HTC-branded model, forgot the name. Had similar specs to the Hd2 but with android.

I have bad experiences with SE. But i guess everyone has bad experiences with one brand or the other

Have you decided which phone to get?

Yep, definitely Android, and right now it's still the Hero. I'm guessing the Nexus One will get here later and with a very high price, as it won't have a proper importer due to it's selling mechanism. And also it doesn't have the sense ui and some other specs the hero has, like the multi-touch.
I could also wait for the Xperia above, but even tho I've had good experience with SE, I don't think they're that good in the touch business, and this is their first Android, also it's too big, and will probably be too expensive anyway...
It's still the Hero, but I have to see it in the store as well, see how it looks and feels up close. That will be in a month from now...

and hopefully we might have the 2.1 update within a month. im yet again craving a trip back to Nokia. Looks like the N97 mini. Sure Symbian lacks a killer UI but I still maimtain that it is the best mobile OS on the market. Free navigation is also a bonus.

  6. this is more or less about technology, but I wouldn't know where else to post this question.

so I was browsing the video tour section on u2.com and found a video of Amsterdam II where I was front row and Bono was right in front of me, and it's on the video.

the question now, is there any way to download the video? not to up it somewhere else, regarding copyright and all, just for my own pleasure, to have a memory of that moment. any way to download this streaming video?

Android 2.1 Update for Hero Confirmed for March
At least for Irish carrier Meteor's users

    27th of January 2010, 14:33 GMT

HTC Hero, one of the nicest mobile phones delivered to the market during 2009 with Google's Android operating system on board, seems scheduled to receive an update to Android 2.1 sometime during March this year. The handset has been already expected to receive the software upgrade from its maker, but no exact time frame for the move was unveiled up until now, though rumors suggested February will be the lucky month. However, Irish wireless carrier Meteor said recently on its forum that the Android 2.1 upgrade for Hero was to arrive on in March.

“Just got another update on this and HTC have said they are releasing 2.1 on the Hero and we are hoping to have this availible by the end of March. This will be available via the HTC website and we are also looking at other ways to make this update easier to access for our customers. As soon as I hear any more on this I'll let you all now becuase I know the release of 2.1 is something that everyone is looking forward to,” the said forum post notes.
  10. Apple unveils its iPad...

looks weird. what do you think?

  11. Terrible name. Expensive digital picture frame or a big iphone. I think it is a niche item. Id rather have a netbook.
  12. Ugliest thing Apple ever made.
