1. Good value would be a better term for the 5800 than cheap. 90% of the functionality of the n97 mini for a third of the cost. There's also the x6 which is basically the mew 5800. Expensive though for little extra function

Yea, good point. I saw the X6 too, nope, it's bigger, and the price is too much for the budget I described. Alright, I'll see what I can do, will be going shopping in 10 days, got time till then.

X6 is too big for modern day smarthphones imo. Enjoying the 5800 for already a year know, great phone it is
  4. Good, it should be on public display

I can recommend you Nokia any day

  5. As I said, I like the 5800 for the features and the keyboard-less-ness which makes it smaller, but it's old, I would prefer to go with the N97mini, but it is big, don't know if it can be used as a feminine phone.
  6. Here the biggest phones are owned by women. Blackberry's, Nokia E-series, etc. They seem very popular here. Just depends on her taste.

True. Phones are very personal stuff, I might get her the Yari and the N97mini and then explain to her the reasons behind it, and if she doesn't like the model, we go and change it...I'm trying my best to avoid that tho. I'm supposed to know her taste! And I do know it, I just can't find it Will look around in stores as well, I think I've done enough internet research.

N97 mini is no bigger In the hand that a 5800. It's actuslly nicer to hold too due to its metalic components. The kryboard isn't worth the price increase over the 5800 though.

  9. Had mine 4-5 months now and love it to bits too. Best phone I've ever had by a long way. I'm sure I don't use half it's functions either...

    Yea, I just saw that.

Nice...you know, I've always had this thing against Nokia...never liked their products, but the mini is starting to take me. I'll probably get her the mini, looks great, acts great, and it's not that big, it's actually a bit smaller than the 5800. As I said, I'm going to the store next week, so I'll be getting a closer look, but I think I already have the final answer:
Sony Ericsson Yari (Great phone by the way, for anyone considering a feature-phone. It's got unique abilities)
    Nokia N97 Mini
