The maps application has loaded perfectly on the phone, but the actual map has disappeared, so unless I use Internet access (which is only wifi as I have no data package) the sat nav doesn't work. I've downloaded the map thing on my MacBook but when I tried to sync them the other night it was taking forever then I had to go to bed!
    So still no sat nav. Shame, because I was loving the previous version and that was working fine.

    I was able to load the maps for the whole of the uk and Ireland in 5 minutes. I used Ovi suite. Was a breeze

    Yea Casper im prefering dabr. Gravity is just a big ram hog and trying to rung it along with opera starts shuting other programs. Dabr is perfect for the casual twitter user.
  3. Ok, so I now have the map on my phone. It will find places no problem, but doesn't seem able to calculate the route unless online. Is that right? Seems a bit naff if it is...

    Settings-internet-offline.

    Lets me search and calculate route no problem. Offline navigation is one of ovi maps main selling points.
  5. A problem of mine has a problem, her U2 iPod is running out of battery. It has some years now (5 I think) and the battery is worn out, it virtually has no charge and only plays for a few minutes while unplugged off the computer. It's starting to be useless, since she can't play it outside her home.... And she doesn't want to buy another U2 iPod (which would be pretty expensive and tough).
    She asked me a few days ago if I could search for a battery replacement, and I've found some ones in eBay, in a price range from 8 to 20 euro (without shipping fees). They all seem to be new/sealed, but I don't know if they really would be useful.
    What do you people recommed? I don't know if that batteries would be new or used, and the replacement/installement may be a problem too...

    Yeah, I've turned it off on the phone. Bizarrely on the journey to work it let me work out any manner of journey to wherever I wanted. Maybe the GPS signal is just crap in my house.

    I'll keep playing with it. I really want to use it when I go to France in the summer...

    Yea make sure you have got gps lock on hour current position before choosing your destination because if it doesn't know where you are then it cant plan a route. So make sure you havea solid red dot on your location before doing anything.

    Do it in the car even. Much faster lock.
