    Settings-internet-offline.

    Lets me search and calculate route no problem. Offline navigation is one of ovi maps main selling points.
  2. A problem of mine has a problem, her U2 iPod is running out of battery. It has some years now (5 I think) and the battery is worn out, it virtually has no charge and only plays for a few minutes while unplugged off the computer. It's starting to be useless, since she can't play it outside her home.... And she doesn't want to buy another U2 iPod (which would be pretty expensive and tough).
    She asked me a few days ago if I could search for a battery replacement, and I've found some ones in eBay, in a price range from 8 to 20 euro (without shipping fees). They all seem to be new/sealed, but I don't know if they really would be useful.
    What do you people recommed? I don't know if that batteries would be new or used, and the replacement/installement may be a problem too...

    Yeah, I've turned it off on the phone. Bizarrely on the journey to work it let me work out any manner of journey to wherever I wanted. Maybe the GPS signal is just crap in my house.

    I'll keep playing with it. I really want to use it when I go to France in the summer...

    Yea make sure you have got gps lock on hour current position before choosing your destination because if it doesn't know where you are then it cant plan a route. So make sure you havea solid red dot on your location before doing anything.

    Do it in the car even. Much faster lock.

    I think you can get new iPod batteries online though I'd bank on them being 3rd party. That is to say they're not official Apple batteries and will probably have a shorter 'in use' time than a standard Apple battery. The U2 iPod was a 4th generation Classic, so those are the batteries you'd be looking for and on this UK site there is an example battery.

    As you can see it comes with a kit for getting the iPod open and stuff. Take care when doing so. If in doubt, have a look on YouTube for some videos of people opening them up. I found one on there for opening an iPod Touch, very helpful. That said, the battery may come with instructions.

  11. Got a problem with Audacity with recording from the soundcard (Stereo Mix). I know Windows Vista and Windows 7 have the Stereo Mix option disabled by themselves but I already enabled it again.

    In Audacity, I have the following options:

    Playback Device: Loudspeakers
    Recording Device: Stereo Mix
    Recording Channels: 2 (Stereo)

    This should do the trick..unfortunately, nothing happens. Looked at drivers, updated everything I could (was nothing to update though). Browsed the internet for solutions, nothing helped this far.

    Anyone?
  12. Are you sure your are not using digital output? (SPDIF or HDMI?) I imagine that the stereo mix is not available then because the sound card only passes through the bytes at that moment.

    If not i'd check the volume controls of windows.
