  1. Got a problem with Audacity with recording from the soundcard (Stereo Mix). I know Windows Vista and Windows 7 have the Stereo Mix option disabled by themselves but I already enabled it again.

    In Audacity, I have the following options:

    Playback Device: Loudspeakers
    Recording Device: Stereo Mix
    Recording Channels: 2 (Stereo)

    This should do the trick..unfortunately, nothing happens. Looked at drivers, updated everything I could (was nothing to update though). Browsed the internet for solutions, nothing helped this far.

    Anyone?
  2. Are you sure your are not using digital output? (SPDIF or HDMI?) I imagine that the stereo mix is not available then because the sound card only passes through the bytes at that moment.

    If not i'd check the volume controls of windows.

    Quite sure of that and the volume controls are on 50% at least. Did the trick on XP in the early days. And have all options set at Stereo 44khz etc.

  6. new Sansa Clip out. Got to own. Still 2,4,8 GB capacities but now with SD expansion so lug a 2gb SD card into it and you then have a 40GB music player that's the size of a match box. FLAC heaven!!!

    Best upgrade though is that they have put the volume rocker and headphone socket on opposite sides so they no longer get in each others way.

    the sound quality and volume are nuts. Throw in all of your FLAC, a radio, voice recorder, podcast and audio book support, great battery, drag and drop plus awesome value then it just hammers everything into the ground. I'll definitely be upgrading to a 4GB blue model plus a 16gb SD card.

    Cannot recommend it enough

    I'll keep it in mind and recommend it to others when the time comes

    Think my phone will do at the moment.Although it would be nice to not worry to drain your battery too much.
  10. Does it support SD cards that big? I have an old Sansa that needs a renewal, no doubt...
    That said, I almost entirely listen to my music on my Nokia phone, dunno if I shall get a new MP3 player

    Edit. Chris, that's exactly what I thought... "It would be nice not depending on your mobile's battery"... Music drowns the battery levels to the subway

    there's that battery issue too. My 5800 is great for music but it seems to slow the UI down and kills the battery. The sound quality difference is quite noticeable too. The Clip is so small its not even like carrying a second device. Fully customizable EQ aswell

    As you can see it comes with a kit for getting the iPod open and stuff. Take care when doing so. If in doubt, have a look on YouTube for some videos of people opening them up. I found one on there for opening an iPod Touch, very helpful. That said, the battery may come with instructions.
