1. new Sansa Clip out. Got to own. Still 2,4,8 GB capacities but now with SD expansion so lug a 2gb SD card into it and you then have a 40GB music player that's the size of a match box. FLAC heaven!!!

Best upgrade though is that they have put the volume rocker and headphone socket on opposite sides so they no longer get in each others way.

  2. Definitely looks good (i like it so small!). Mine mp3 player is collecting dust though. Is it really better than your phone?

the sound quality and volume are nuts. Throw in all of your FLAC, a radio, voice recorder, podcast and audio book support, great battery, drag and drop plus awesome value then it just hammers everything into the ground. I'll definitely be upgrading to a 4GB blue model plus a 16gb SD card.

    Cannot recommend it enough
  4. Hmmm. that thing is packed with features
I'll keep it in mind and recommend it to others when the time comes

Think my phone will do at the moment.Although it would be nice to not worry to drain your battery too much.
  5. Does it support SD cards that big? I have an old Sansa that needs a renewal, no doubt...
That said, I almost entirely listen to my music on my Nokia phone, dunno if I shall get a new MP3 player

Edit. Chris, that's exactly what I thought... "It would be nice not depending on your mobile's battery"... Music drowns the battery levels to the subway

there's that battery issue too. My 5800 is great for music but it seems to slow the UI down and kills the battery. The sound quality difference is quite noticeable too. The Clip is so small its not even like carrying a second device. Fully customizable EQ aswell

That is to say they're not official Apple batteries and will probably have a shorter 'in use' time than a standard Apple battery. The U2 iPod was a 4th generation Classic, so those are the batteries you'd be looking for and on this UK site there is an example battery.

As you can see it comes with a kit for getting the iPod open and stuff. Take care when doing so. If in doubt, have a look on YouTube for some videos of people opening them up. I found one on there for opening an iPod Touch, very helpful. That said, the battery may come with instructions.

    Good luck

Uooooohohooooooww, thanks a lot!!! I'll show that to my friend and see what she says, THANKS!!

It could probably handle a 64GB card you know. Highly recommendable

  9. That's insane. My previous Nokia (5220 ExpressMusic) was made in 2009 and could only handle up to 4 GB. Thanks a lot, Gerard... might look into it
  10. As long your phone / mp3 supports SDHC it supports the biggest cards on the market

Anyway, i have found a good way to handle it now. Phone charging while i sleep, watch a tv show in the train. Let it charge during work using my laptop, listen music / surfing on the way back. And let it charge again

thats the way. 1 major plus the Clip has though over these modern touchscreens is blind navigation. Skip/pause/stop/back/volume etc can call be done when the ting is in your pocket or clipped on somewhere (handy in rain etc). Try that on an N900 or iPhone
  12. Agree. Its not ideal, music on your phone, but it has its pro's too. Listening to web radio is one thing

But you are right, skipping to the next number, volume, etc is a bitch. Will try to remap some hardware keys to fix this.
