I get about 50% more battery life out of my dext. Had a big improvement with the Hero too. He can get a little widget for his home screen so only 1 tap required to toggle from 2g-3g

Preferably looking for one with over 10MP and at least 5x optical zoom. I'm leaning towards Invalid url 'http://this one.'

Seems alright. Depends on what type of situations you'd be shooting in, like dark, light, outdoors, indoors, stadiums etc.

Just general usage, hence why I don't want to spend a lot on it. DSLR and bridge cameras are bit clunky to carry round and generally require batteries. Would be used in all situations, reason I want one with good optical zoom is because I like taking photos of close up objects, especially out in the garden etc and the only camera I've had recently is the camera on my phone, which admittedly does take some pretty spectacular close-ups but isn't so good for landscape pictures. It produces some good crisp pictures but you can't really view the pictures at their actual size without there being some fuzziness.
But I don't want a digital camera that is crap lol, I want it to take excellent photos in most situations. I know I can't get 'perfect' photos without spending the money on a camera with interchangeable lenses and such.
Just looking for someone who owns a camera in the £100-£200 bracket from a reputable brand and give some feedback on how good it is.
