1. iPhone sold. For more than I paid too.
  2. Still waiting for January 6 before I can order the HTC Desire HD.

  3. Too expensive. I don't see the point in expensive Androids any more. The cheap ones do the same thing in the exact same fashion.

What's the best Android handset that's cheap and hackable?

Swapped back to a QWERTY key-setup yesterday; the change is so much better. No more looking like a knob pressing on a screen.

Less powerfull though, slower performance, smaller screen etc. Besides, the Desire HD will most likely get the Gingerbread-update too.
  6. Updating my iPod to the new software. Let's hope it doesn't decide to melt or blow up or something.

Nope, says it's been restored and restarting. Which can only be a good sign!!!

HTC are notoriously slow for updates. This wee phone I got runs at 600Mhz but doesn't have to carry HTC Sense on its back so is till very nippy. Other than that (and camera - also crap on HTC's though) this wee cheapo matches a standard Desire spec for spec.

    That HD is a monster

  8. They are all hackable. I've tried out 3 custom ROM's already on this ZTE Blade (cheap as hell if you can find one). In truth though they are all pretty hackable but you are best getting something with stock android on it. All depends on what you want to pay though but look for a Blade. Perfect for playing.

Is it a fairly new model the ZTE?

Yep, but that's a decision you have. I like HTC Sense, one of the best and well-thought skins out there for Android 2.2. The Desire HD with its processor is capable of running that new skin smoothly. I prefer a big screen, don't use the camera anyway (although the 8mp camera is better than Nokia's 5800 3.2 mp trashcam) and the build is quite good too.

Anyway, taste differs. Planning to go for a 1-year contract anyway instead of 2.
  11. I'm getting a new phone after Christmas and I don't have a clue which one to get, so I thought I'd come here. For about upto £150, what's a decent phone I could get?
