    I think Android, WP7, iOS and Symbian, which makes a surprise comeback if I hear the stories, will remain. There are a lot of low-end Androids on the market and there are more coming. Android might become the new Symbian in the low-end, together with Symbian itself.

    I don't know what Google will come up with in the coming years, it will be interesting to see. The four earlier mentioned operating systems will dominate the market anyway. WP7 is still in its early phase, iOS gets more competition, Symbian makes a comeback and Android is still in development and always will be.

    I like the Android-system I have, it's a farcry from Symbian S60. Don't know what my next phone will be but I'll stick with this Desire HD for the coming 12 months or so anyway.
  2. Android wins either way as a platform but I don't see any manufacturers doing too well with it. Certainly no other manufacturer will challenge Nokia. Android will sell at the high and low ends but there will be too many manufacturers trying to get ever thinner slices of the pie.

    True, and then their models don't sell themselves anymore because there are simply to many of them. The high-end models will survive though. Only Samsung and HTC challenge iOS with Android. Sony Ericsson isn't there (yet).

    Samsung is okay as they are focusing on Bada at the same time as using Android. HTC's hardware is sub par and Sense is already looking dated so they have little to differentiate themselves from the lower end manufacturers. Nokia will be fine and apple will maintain its market share. Everything else concerning Android is unknown.

    Google will come with Android 2.4 pretty quick though, probably porting Android 3 Honeycomb elements to the skin. HTC need to reinvent themselves from time to time. But I think they're capable of doing so. And they might focus on WP7 as well, like they did with Windows Mobile.

    True, that's the strength of Apple for the high-end and Nokia for the low-end more or less.
    Google could have kept Android for the Nexus, which they didn't.
  8. I have a question. I plan to go biking a couple of times while in Eire later this month, and I thought about getting myself one of those mini cameras that you can tie to your helmet so you can film the trip while biking. A bit of fun, maybe create some nice memories this way.

    found this one. now I have no idea about wether this is good or crap. website is in German but you might be able to make out the technical details.

    anyone with an opinion on this? I'm clueless - as always any help would be much appreciated.

    You know you get shaky footage with that, that's no problem? Or aren't you going offroad?


  10. I know it's most likely going to be shaky, I watched videos filmed like that on youtube to get an impression. It's no problem really, I just want to get some footage while driving. I'll stay on the roads or the paths along the cliffs mainly, no offroad really. I haven't planned that, however. The "real" filming of the important things I'll do with my digicam to get HD footage.
  11. That aside, there should be specialistic solutions with sufficient damping. But I guess those are pretty expensive.

    another question, this time really dumb, but hey, it's me --> let's say I've burned a dvd. Now I want to get the label that came with the torrent and put in on the dvd. how to do that? is there a special "paper" that I have to print the label on and then glue it to the dvd? *dumb*
