Apple wants to improve the sound quality of their audio downloads....
Instead of that, why not allow uncompressed WAV downloads for the same price. Either on iTunes I can buy an M4A album at less-than-decent quality yet buy one with uncompressed audio and a book for the same price, sometimes half of that price and it's a physical copy.
I could always download it for free in WAV as well but anyway...
