1. I know i'll regret it, definitely when the Anna update comes around. At least it will be close by if I ever want it back....

I'm happy with android but not particularly in love with this Desire S, I could find myself swapping it for another Android device (no idea which). A mini Galaxy S 2 would be perfect.
  2. Hello forum! I think I'm gonna by an external hard drive, but since it not an area of technology that I know a lot about I thought I might ask your help

I'd like it to be fast enough to be able to watch my bootlegs from it, other than that, I don't really know what I want Any recommendations?

You've got a few choices. Theres 'portable' (2.5inch) hard drives which are USB powered and are smaller( in size and weight) then the 3.5inch external drives, the 3.5inch drives also need external power, which means u'll need a spare powerpoint handy. However the 3.5ich drives are cheaper per GB.

Then there are the connection types, which effect the transfer speed of data from the drive to your computer. The type of ports your pc has will determine your options here.
USB 2.0 is probably to most common type of connection (and the cheapest), USB 3.0 is also available now and claims to be up to 10x faster then USB 2.0. Theres also Firewire 400, firewire 800 and Sata connections. (firewire 800 and sata r faster then usb2.0)

If u r using a laptop id probably recommend getting a portable one since u can just power it off a usb port and not worry about the extra powerpoint, and since they r so small u can generally fit them in ur laptop case/bag. and the transfer rate of usb is high enough to watch video off of.

Hope this helps, Europe is more cutting edge in technology compared to Australia so you might have more options then us.
  4. Yeah, but there's some space on the hard drives And most of the bootlegs I have is DVD.

And I like my money You don't have a very large income being only 15 years old.¨

Also, if the external hard drive would crash, I'd lose everything. I don't think all discs would 'crash' at the same time.
