1. next question from your dummy at work.

there's the transportable navigation system we have for our cars. It contains all maps of Europe, including Ireland. For example, if I type in "Dublin" as destination, it will sure come up with a route and everything. So.... my question: if I take this navigation thing with me to Ireland, will it work there as well? I'd need it for a rented car there and want to safe the extra costs for a borrowed one there.
Any idea? How to find out such a thing (without the obvious try and fail method while there) ?

Yeah, it'll work. Just uses the satellites to work, doesn't matter where you are. All you need to do is make sure the battery is charged.

EDIT: Would be worth taking a second opinion to be 100% safe.
  3. Should work
  4. If it contains the whole Europe maps, it will work wherever you are

Remember me when you put "Howth" as destination, please...
  5. It should work fine. Might take a while to lock if it doesn't have A-GPS (or if it does and it'd on German networks). Should be fine though.
  6. Nokia's Windows phones look nice. I probably won't like WindowsPhone but I am a sucker for Nokia hardware. I will be tempted.

  8. Any news on release date?

  9. Nokia Lumia 800 set for UK release of 16th November, I imagine 710 would be around the same time. Wikipedia lists November 2011 as European launch.
  10. Freakishly quick fir Nokia. I might try and pick up a cheap used wp7 device first before shelling out for an 800. Near sure i won't prefer it to Symbian though due to Zune desktop, lazy multitasking and no usb mode.
  11. I might go for the 710. Less expensive and WP phones around that price range are already pretty fast.

  12. I seem to refuse anything that's not oled. Just love the deep blacks. The 710 is quite nice though.
