Oh no, they're going to drop an atomic bomb on the Internet.
  3. Just targeting the owners of the copyright and the senators (or whatever they're called) who still support SOPA it seems.

Brown adds that “more is coming” and
    Anonymous-aligned hacktivists are pursuing a
joint effort with others to “damage campaign
raising abilities of remaining Democrats who
    support SOPA.”

Although many members of Congress have just
this week changed their stance on the
controversial Stop Online Piracy Act, or SOPA,
the raid on Megaupload Thursday proved that
the feds don’ t need SOPA or its sister legislation,
PIPA, in order to pose a blow to the Web.

I would be surprised. Megaupload was always a shifty site. MediaFire and RapidShare are different, they both seem to operate in a much more professional way. Besides, Megaupload weren't only shut down for sharing, not just hosting, illegal files. There are many other charges involved.
  6. thanks everyone for your input regarding the WiFi / WLAN / internet problem I'm trying to solve.

I read all your ideas carefully, and spent days checking stuff online, like routers, wireless access points and the like.
as I'm not too sure the wireless internet thing will work well enough here -- as this is an old house with very thick walls and I'm two floors above the office -- I'm now going for a router (which gets the DSL modem cable as input and has 5 LAN ports for output) and connecting both office computer and my notebook physically with LAN cables to the router. Order is sent, wasn't too much money spent after all. Here's to hope my limited understanding of your shared knowledge will lead to a positive ending in this mystery of online connection thanks again
  7. Good luck with it and may you enjoy the beautiful Internet lying from your bed or wherever you wish I really love to browse the net from wherever I want in my house!
