  1. I find myself everyday less and less tempted by tablets. Seriously... If I want a computer, I get a proper computer (or laptop if I want the mobile factor). If I want a touch device that only supports dedicated apps, I get an smartphone or an iPod Touch - both of them fit in my pocket. Why would I want a thing that does not give me computer features but is ten times bigger and heavier than my portable devides is beyond me.

    Windows Phone 7.5 is available. Not Windows 8, some things are borrowed from WP7.5 but the core is completely different.

    As for the iPad approach, the cheaper one wont be able to run apps as we know them. Only 'metro' apps, which are comparable to the apps for WP7.5.

  5. I borrowed an iPad some weeks ago from a friend, and I couldn't get to even start to like it in 5 days. No way. It's just a useless device for me. Great computer? PC. Mobile computer? Laptop. Mobile gizmo for music and apps? iPod Touch, N8, I carry both in my pocket.

  9. What's weird is I bought my iPad in the Glasgow Apple Store a few months ago. I clearly told the guy that I'm there on vacation and will be taking the device to Iran, he even helped me with my tax refund forms and gave me some advice about accessing apple services in Iran...why is it so different in the US...and for US citizens!

  12. Looks and sounds pretty good, the new features are welcome, altho not much new stuff compared to others, it's still catching up. And the no update for older phones, specially the Lumia was not good, but I guess necessary.
